Applewood is a small, rural town in the western United States. It is home to a population of about 100 people, with an average age of 36. Applewood was founded in 1868 by Mormon settlers who were looking for a place to live away from the growing number of non-Mormons living in Utah Valley.

Applewood is located about 16 miles south of Salt Lake City and has its own elementary school, which was established in 1881 and has been operating ever since. The town also has a library that was established in 1921 and offers books, DVDs, CDs, magazines and newspapers for borrowing.
